Who can I ask for more information about the travel award?

Can students use the travel awards to attend international conferences?

Yes, the funds can be used for international conferences if the application is approved. 

When should students apply for travel funds?

Students are encouraged to submit their application as soon as they become aware of their travel plans. Early submission allows sufficient time for preparing the presentation, completing review and approval of the application, and arranging travel.

What are the deadlines for submitting the request for travel funds?

Applications are reviewed as they are received but must be submitted at least 8 weeks prior to travel.

How are the travel funds provided?

This award us processed as a reimbursement once the trip has been completed. Students can visit the Graduate Student Travel Resource page at Graduate Students: Travel Reimbursements | Department of Statistics (ucr.edu) for instructions and information regarding receipt requirements and the reimbursement process.

Can students receive funding from this award more than once (i.e., submit the application more than once)?

Priority will be given to students who have not previously received the department travel award.
